As I stated earlier this week, we saw The Killers live on Sunday, and proceeded to fall completely in love with them. They are the perfect new obsession. Anyway, we've determined we need to see them again, and closer this time. So we have started a collection to send us to see them in May when classes are over and made pleas on Facebook. The following conversation took place over Facebook while we were in the same room:

The Return of Rec-A-Week

This week's Rec-A-Week segment only consists of two recs, but it's a nice way to transition back to this journal:

1. Let's Cause a Scene
This little gem is a representation of our joint new discovery. As you all know, or have read/heard about, we saw The Killers in concert on Sunday. They are an amazing band live, and we can't help but fangirl Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci. This story is funny, sweet, hot, and about a million other things.

2. Unfogging the Future
This piece of fiction is a Panic at the Disco/The Killers crossover. It features Brendon Urie/Brandon Flowers. My mind nearly exploded just picturing the two of them. Think early years of both when pink and eyeliner were in.

Our Forgotten Joint Journal

I have not mentioned it in my personal journal, but brilligspoons has a wonderful summary of the experience on her journal. Oh, wait! You're probably wondering what the hell I'm talking about. Let me clarify. WE SAW THE KILLERS!!!! We spent a lovely Sunday with her sister in Hoboken and NYC. We started the day with a lovely lunch at an Irish pub in Hoboken, and then took the Path into NYC. We wandered around Times Square, made two trips to Virgin Megastore, brilligspoons had her picture taken with Cookie Monster, and ventured into Macy's. I found THE dress for formal. I'm sure I can find one similar to it in other stores. I would link a picture, but LJ is being mean to me right now. We headed to MSG around 5:20 and proceeded to rock the night away.

This fantastic experience has led to a new joint interest of ours. Band slash with The Killers. Brandon and Ronnie are so hot together. We have to admit that the writing is sometimes (most times) bad, but we can't stop because of the chance to find a gem.

I don't even know why I bother.

1. Apostrophe use. There are only two rules for apostrophes and they still are not used properly! Some words can just not be used in a possessive manner. They cannot own things!

2. The word sword should never be used as a replacement for penis. Never.

A few things

1. Quiet and quite are not the same thing.

2. Too means very or also.

3. You are contracted is you're.

4. Their, there, and they're are not interchangeable.

5. Use a spell checker! And a beta!

6. Established writers can do whatever they want because they are established. Fanfiction does not count.

7. Get your characters correct.

8. Pronouns are ok to use.

9. Privet is not a word. It may only be used in Harry Potter fandom when referring to where Harry was raised. It does not refer to wanting to keep something between few people. That would be private. Get it right!

10. Proper punctuation is nice also. I understand that it can be difficult. I feel as though I'm missing some commas myself right now, but make an effort!

EDIT: Apparently privet is a word. That just shows my lack of plant knowledge. Still it does not mean what fandom writers want it to mean!

Operation Make Deathly Hallows Cool has Commenced!

thecreepyones have decided, in an attempt to make Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows more interesting and in efforts to remember things we have repressed, to read the book aloud to each other. This project started tonight with our first two excerpts. I read the "final showdown" to Margaret and Margaret read the epilogue to me. Our collective opinions are behind the cut.

"The final showdown" ends with Harry informing Voldie that the Elder Wand is Draco's wand and that since Harry now uses Draco's wand, Harry is the master of the Elder Wand. Voldie does not believe him. They decide to cast their spells at each other. Voldie obviously goes with the AK, and Harry defaults to expelliarmus. FREAKING EXPELLIARMUS!!! J.K., are you for real?

Enter the epilogue:
1. We both believe that Harry is only married to Ginny to fulfill some sort of obligation to the Weasley family.
2. Draco is balding? What the fuck?
3. Pansy and Draco is like the longest established relationship in the book and then all of a sudden Draco's wife is just some OC. Did Pansy die and we just not read that part yet?
4. Harry acts more maternal than Ginny. He's all emotional and clingy as the kids get on the train, and she's all like, "It's O.K. They're on the train, let's go!" Did Harry actually give birth to them?

In which the Creepy Ones attend a concert and nearly die

Ashley and Margaret left campus at 5:30. They arrived at Muhlenberg at 5:50. AbsentStar opened the concert a little after 7 and were amazing. Third Eye Blind came on after 8 and ROCKED THE HOUSE. Seriously. Absolutely fantastic performance, and the best part was when they broke up "Semi-Charmed Life" with "Ride Wit Me." Yeah.

Anyway.

Ashley and Margaret left Muhlenberg a little before 10. Margaret proceeded to ALMOST KILL ASHLEY TWICE. Yes, you just heard that. After blowing the second stop sign, Margaret decided it just wasn't worth it anymore and decided to drive down a one-way street THE WRONG WAY.

Needless to say, they are still alive. THANK GOD.
